A selection of my projects developed within an employment, internship or university.
Mobile App
As part of the Game Change initiative, GfK aimes to reinvent their Consumer Panel by making a mobile app available to consumers that allows them to facilitate and optimize their grocery shopping, learning about their shopping behaviours and also to earn discounts and vouchers.
The app "Mezure" was build from scratch by involving consumers, manufactors and retailers at a very early stage to understand each party's needs and requiremets. While the highest business interest is to have as much as possible purchases tracked with Mezure (either by connecting loyalty accounts or receipts scaning), consumers are more interested in support for their daily grocery shopping, consumption and food waste avoidance as well as getting the best price for their products.

Data Visualization
I supported the Brand Architect product by refactoring their client portal.
A new data visualization of the two-dimensional "Explanatory Model" was created and various solutions were tested and discussed with stakeholders.
Navigation was enriched with small thumbnails of the visualization type used for the corresponding analysis as we found out that the way something is visualized is supporting users when they try to recall which analysis they are looking for.

Touch Screen
GfK is tracking panalists audio listening (radio, TV) during the day via a MediaWatch panelists are wearing. Panelists receive also docking station to charge the watch. The docking station is equiped with a small touchscreen display.
The task was to utilize the touchscreen of the docking station to increase the engagement of the panelists to wear the watch.
In addition to managing the watch itself and the panel partizipation (incl. irregular short and simple surveys about their media usage) via the docking station, a simple clock (incl. alarm and timer function), weather forecast and a statistics feature about the panelists wearing time and built-in step counter of the MediaWatch were introduced.
User Interface
GfK Router allows to track (spoof) and analyze a household's web traffic for digital and streaming audience research. The GfK router is connected to the household router and requests the consent to track each device that is connected new to the network by redirecting the to a consent page.
Via the GfK router management, the household head can see all connected devices and their consent status and manage for browser-less devices (e.g. Smart Fridge).
Mobile App
GfK is leading in measuring TV usage in households. For decades various generations of TV meters were installed in households. While identification of the watched TV channels changed from active announcement by the household members to nowadays passive audio signal matching, there was still the only way to identify the actual persons in front of the TV by announcing them to the system by an additional classic remote control.
A lot of effort is put into alternative user announcement methods today. The Remote Control App is focused on the registration process and is aimed particularly at younger and technically adapt panelists to strengthen their motivation and registration behavior.
Mobile App
GfK Digital Trends combines two measurement methods of GfK. The LeoTrace technology to track a panelist's digital web and app usage is now combined with the Media Watch App functionality to detect TV or radio audio signals in the surroundings which can indicate media usage by the panelist.
